A lot of young actors got early roles in Poirot and went on to become great successes later on in their careers. David Suchet claimed he could always tell that they would become as star.
Hermione Norris appeared in Jewel Robbery on the Grand Metropolitan in 1993, and later went on to appear in Spooks and in Marple: A Caribbean Mystery earlier this year.
Christopher Eccleston appeared in One, Two, Buckle My Shoe in 1992, and later became the 9th Doctor in the reboot of Dr Who.
Peter Capaldi appeared in Wasp's Nest in 1991, and will play the 12th Doctor in Dr Who as well as being famous for The Thick Of It.

Damian Lewis appeared in Hickory Dickory Dock in 1995 and later went on to star in American films and TV seasons such as Life and the Stormbreaker film. Emily Blunt appeared in Death on the Nile in 2004, and later became famous for her roles in Hollywood blockbusters.
Russel Tovey appeared in 2001's Evil Under The Sun, and went on to achieve fame in Dr Who, Agatha Christie's Marple and Sherlock.
Samantha Bond appeared in The Adventure of the Cheap Flat in 1990 as Stella Robinson but later achieved fame for her role as Miss Moneypenny in James Bond film series and as Ms Wormwood in The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Sadly David Suchet has never won a BAFTA for his 25 year spanning role as Hercule Poirot, maybe it's about time he did.
